Dear Parents,
I hope all of you enjoyed the holiday season. It is always nice to ease back into a routine after the hectic year-end activities.
Preschool Council and I have been busy making plans for the 2008/2009 school year. I know -- it is hard to believe that registration will take place in just a few weeks! A class schedule for the next school year is attached to this newsletter. Class times and offerings will remain the same with a slight increase in tuition and the registration fee. In house registration will kick off on January 29th and 30tth 10:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. each day. Registration will then be opened to the public on Saturday, February 2nd. 9 a.m. – noon. Those families needing a specific time slot should consider registering on the 29th so they will not be disappointed. Enrollment forms can be obtained in the preschool office or from the bulletin board nearest the back door.
Hope Ridge Church is holding a series of worship services that appeal to families. The Ridge at Pooh Corner series is held on Sundays at 10 a.m. with childcare provided for babies and toddlers. Young children will attend the first part of the worship service with their parents and then be dismissed to attend Sunday School Classes. All are welcome!
Our annual Open House will take place on Sunday, January 20th, 2 - 3:30. This is a great time for children to show-off their school to grandma, grandpa and siblings. Teachers, Council members, POPS parents and I will be on hand to conduct tours and answer questions. If you have friends or neighbors who are interested in a preschool for their child, please invite them to come along.
The POPS Scholastic Book Fair will begin on open house day and continue on the 22nd and 23rd during preschool hours. Reasonably priced preschool level books will be displayed and offered for sale. Another POPS undertaking this month will be a Malley’s Pre-Easter candy sale. Avoid the hassle of crowded stores and do your candy shopping at home! Candy will arrive prior to Easter. Order Forms and more information about these events will be sent home later this month.
The 4-year old classes will be holding formal conferences this month. Remember that there is no school for the 4’s on their scheduled conference day. Please try to help each other out with childcare.
